This document contains learning goals taken from the Utah State Science Core, a learner analysis of my Biology students during the 2012-2013 school year, a needs analysis that specifies the standards and objectives to be taught, and a task analysis. This document was used to help me design the lessons in my thematic unit.
This document describes the objectives to be used for instruction, the prerequisites of the course, evaluation strategies to be used, feedback processes, learning and reinforcement activities, basic plans for teacher materials, and motivational strategies to be used in the lessons.
By clicking the link above (development document) you will find 5 lessons designed for a unit on the Nervous System. There are detailed lesson plans, instructor's guide and student materials for each lesson. These lessons are designed to be taught sequentially and each lesson builds on understanding of concepts from the previous lesson. By clicking on each individual lesson you can access these resources.
Evaluation Document
This document details my students reaction to my thematic unit (what they liked and didn't like). The responses are only from the first lesson and I will update the responses to the additional lessons that I teach. This document also contains my reflection of the ADDIE model and the teaching, and how I would change this lesson to make it better.
